How To

What is a battery pack and how do I replace it?

The main power source for your drone's motors is the battery pack. These packs provide enough power to keep your quadcopter in flight safely and smoothly.

You won't notice any differences between the battery packs in a new drone and the one you have before. But, over time, your battery pack will slowly become worn down. Eventually, it might stop working altogether. To make sure that your drone is still functioning properly, you will need to replace its battery.

It is recommended to use the original replacement part when replacing a battery. You could endanger your drone's safety by using a faulty replacement part.

Follow these steps to replace a battery.

  1. Disconnecting the battery connector cable is a good idea. This ensures your drone doesn’t receive any electricity. You can remove the battery connector from the drone by pulling it out.
  2. Unscrew the battery pack. Unscrew the battery pack from the bottom of your quadcopter. The battery usually separates into two parts.
  3. Locate the contact points. Once you've removed the battery pack, look around for the battery contacts. These small metal pins link the battery and the rest of your drone's components.
  4. Install the new battery. Next, insert the new battery into your drone. To do so, align the battery connectors on both sides of the battery pack. After that, attach the battery pack to the drone. Once you have done that, tighten the bolts that hold your battery pack in its place.
  5. Reattach the connector cable to the battery. Connect the drone's battery connector cable once you have installed the new pack.
  6. Test the drone. Before flying your drone again, check whether it still operates correctly. If it does, congratulations!
